Mathews Lift XTM 33 Review
Mathews Lift XTM 33 Review

Does the new Mathews send its predecessors to the closet?

For 2025, Mathews has added a new feature to one of its biggest bestsellers, the Lift, allowing the adjustment of cam lean without having to use a press. In doing so, the manufacturer from Sparta (Wisconsin) makes up for over 10 years of delay compared to Bowtech, which had been highly visionary in this regard.
A default choice
In the past, I have owned 6 Mathews bows, but none of them definitively won me over, as I personally found these bows much more sensitive to torque than the competition. I had therefore ordered the new PSE Mach 33 for my 2025 hunting season. But after 4 months of contradictory prevarications regarding its delivery date, I finally threw in the towel and turned toward the Bowtech Virtue. But there again, nothing was available for ages. I then fell back on the very last option conceivable to me (Hoyt persisting in its strategy of "all adjustments in the pro shop") and ordered a Lift XTM 33 which was available in stock, eager to start my nutria season. From my experience, everything I had read, and a prior analysis of the DFC, I expected a bow that would undoubtedly be highly accurate, remarkably quiet, vibration-free, very light for such a long ATA, fairly fast but with a cycle to match, and more easily torquable than my PSE Mach 34. On these last two aspects, this represented a certain form of personal masochism that I secretly hoped to disprove in practice.
