A Feeling of Déjà Vu
A Feeling of Déjà Vu

The truth sometimes catches you by surprise

After five long months of waiting, the precious package finally arrived. My new Black Widow recurve, a 49-pound PCH X, reveals its sleek curves. I chose a Macassar ebony riser, beautifully enhanced by the golden grain of the Bocote limbs. This exceptional bow will accompany me on most of my outings this season, becoming an extension of my intentions. The first trials, spread over several days of meticulous tuning, made it possible to fine-tune the brace height, position the nock set with precision, and adapt the arrows to the dynamics of the setup. The silencers bring a hushed, almost confidential sound to each release, adding to the feeling of smoothness and control. To accompany this recurve, I chose heavy arrows totaling 645 grains with a 25% FOC (Front of Center), promoting penetration and flight stability. I opted for the 5 mm Easton Carbon Legacy "Fred Eichler" shafts. Their finish evokes the wood of the bow, while their white fletching offers excellent visibility of the trajectories, which is invaluable during long instinctive shooting sessions.
