"Le Cuisinier Français" invents the folding chef's knife!

As a traveling chef, Étienne Rozès wanted a practical knife that could naturally find its place on his belt, but also in the backpacks of hikers, around a barbecue, or inside a camper van.

L’Esperluète

L’Esperluète was born from the desire to combine the benefits of a folding knife with the long blade of a traditional chef's knife. Finding no such product on the market, its designer, Étienne Rozès, partnered with Patrick, a knifemaker from the Aveyron region, for the development. The idea took shape in 2019 in Patrick's workshop and developed rapidly. A worldwide patent was filed, followed by immediate recognition: a silver medal at the 2023 Lépine Contest and a successful Kickstarter campaign in early 2024.
